Hi, Julie, Sure! First, it just represents six more years of thinking, experimenting, and testing new mentor text strategies with our students. There are also hundreds of NEW mentor texts in this book organized by the skill they teach, as well as six, full-length annotated mentor texts. There’s a whole unit in this book on op-ed writing that you could pick up and implement tomorrow, as well as videos of us teaching with mentor texts. I’m particularly excited about some skill progressions we offer as well as new scaffolds for helping students read like writers with increasing independence. It’s pretty much all the things we WISH were in Writing With Mentors. 🙂
Can you share what’s new/different from the original mentor text book?
